Just a thought ... but with the high price of gas could the year end awards be held at the end of Interstate? Perhaps just staying there one day longer?

It would be very difficult after a long weekend to have our meetings on the day after Interstate. I don't know about anyone else but I am pooped after the long week. We don't always have our awards finished that early, especially since Labor Day is early this year. We basically have only 4 times of year that you may have to travel. State Finals, Interstate, Annual meeting, and March Meeting. I would like to see if it is possible to not have our March meeting and combine a Timers/Judges meeting at the annual meeting instead. (Anyone's thoughts on that subject) The only down fall is that the new rule books would not be printed yet, but I think we could print them later and mail them out to those that had purchased them. Then we could eliminate the March meeting that sometimes in the past has not been that well attended.
Lesa, I think Jack is going to put a proposal in to that affect - to combine Convention and Annual Meeting all in one weekend. I'm not sure though if that's a By-laws cange or not.
Jack & Lesa's ideas sound good. Although I hate to travel to a "horse thing" without a horse, of course. I totally understand though competitors would be too exhausted to concentrate on official club meetings.
